Mission
Gateway was formed with a commitment
to facilitate partnerships with health care professionals and employers
to deliver cost effective and high quality health care to employees. Our
focus revolves around meeting the needs of employers who pay for care,
employees who receive care, and providers who deliver care. We accomplish
this through network management, disease management and wellness programs,
and accurate and timely claims processing and data management.
Vision
Gateway Health Alliance is Virginia’s
provider of choice for effective, proactive management of self-funded
employer health plans. We constantly research and analyze industry trends
and best practices while providing client-centered service that exceeds
expectations.

Choices
One of
the primary reasons Gateway Health Alliance was formed is to provide health
benefit plans alternatives for businesses. Founded in 1994, Gateway has
developed client partnerships with more than 70 Virginia employers with
locations throughout the U.S.
Savings
Since
we began operations, more than $200,000,000 has been saved for employers
and employees through our provider/employer partnerships.
Our Clients
Whether
self funded or fully insured, our clients enjoy flexibility of plan design,
deep provider discounts, lower utilization cost and customer/member service
that we’d put up against any other firm – hands down. In fact, we have
never had a self-funded client tell us they wre leaving Gateway because

Our Providers
Gateway participating
physicians are empowered by the Medical Management Committee to work with
patients on a plan of care driven by need, not by bureaucracy. Before
becoming part of our network, prospective physicians are screened by a
rigorous credentialing process and must meet a number of criteria including
education requirements, years of practice and record of service.
Our Provider Network
Relationships
span the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as, North Carolina. Partnerships
with provider networks nationwide extend the coverage area from coast
to coast and around the world.
Business Volume
Gateway
presently serves more than 70 employers and their employees working at
plants or sites throughout the United States. Gateway currently manages
approximately 27,000 members. Our administrative/ technology partner,
Primary PhysicianCare serves more than 130 client employers throughout
the United States. Our combined membership exceeds 100,000. |
